Lack of exercise and activity can lead to aging too fast and stop you from living a healthy and long life. When you do’nt exercise regularly you are more likely to feel tired much of the time and also find it difficult to sleep at night.

When you wake up in the morning, you may feel exhausted and fatigued all day until you finally fall asleep exhausted while watching TV at night or even while driving your car which of course can be very serious. As you, age your body changes and you have to make changes to your life style to accomodate this

Enjoying a good night sleep makes the mind work more effectively and helps you make decisions more easily and effectively. A good nights sleep also helps you feel more energetic and this can also help control your body weight.  You can also make your decisions with less stress. Sleeping well at night makes our immune system more effective and this help to keep us healthier.

Doctors and Health Researchers have proved that a good nights sleep is essential for your health. They have discovered that when you lack sleep it reduces the growth hormones in your body, this allows changes from muscles to fat. Sleep is most important for a healthy body, but is believed at this time that exercise is even more significant. To give your health a helping hand a simple walk for a few minutes a day can work wonders.

Walking daily will help to stregthen and build your muscles, ease away stress and any depression you may experience in addition it will help eliminate anxiety. By removing these daily rigours of everyday life you will be able to sleep for a longer and deeper and generally feel more invigorated for the trials and tribulations of the day.

When you decided to exercise on a regular basis you’ll find your sleep patterns will also improve. In addition you help your body metabolism perform at it’s best. If you don’t exercise you will find your body is constantly trying to find extra energy it lacks. The body metabolic system works by releasing either glucose or insulin in to the blood and if the body does not sufficient exercise or sleep it tries to compensate which can lead to significant weight gain.

Being tired and worn out is no joke and the last thing on your mind when you feel that way is exercising. But lack of exercise and avoiding activities which make you feel energized can lead to you becoming apothetic and unmotivated. Getting a good sleep is crucial and your body will love you for it. Not only that you’ll be fired up for the day ahead and look forward to exercise as a stress release method.

Things to avoid are:

Your body needs good quality sleep to function properly so I recommend that you try and cut down on products containing caffeine, tobacco products containing nicotine, the use of toxic chemicals in the home and at work. In addition where possible take prescriptions drugs only where absolutely needed and take care when using over the counter medications. Most of these products contain chemicals which stimulate the body making it harder to get to sleep at night.

Make an effort not to drink beverages either hot or cold after 8pm this especially important if they contain caffeine or other chemicals (which most do). Some people find a hot milk or malted drink help them sleep more soundly. I also urge you to stop smoking as this in addition to many know benefits will help you when trying to sleep.

By taking a walk every morning you will encourage your body to be energized and you’ll, feel much more prepared for the day ahead. In addition an added benefit will be your joints will be more flexible and you’ll become less prone to aches and pains associated with lack of mobility.

A futher added benefit of walking as a form of exercise is it is very effective at burning calories helping with keeping your body trim. Plus you’ll be feeling much more alert through out the day. Intially when you start walking you should begin at a steady pace slowly adding more distance and speed to your walk as your body becomes more acustomed.

When you first start walking you want to careful not to try and do too much but as you get more used to walking build up to a good brisk walking pace. You should start to feel that you are pushing yourself but NOT making youself breathless. Its a good idea to take a short walk either before or after meals as this will help you feel less stressed and generally more relaxed. Plus not forgetting you’ll be burning up some of those excess calories keeping you nice and trim.

If you start a walking program, it is a lot more fun if you have someone to go with you. Talk to that neighbor or a buddy from work, ask you wife and husband to walk with you sometimes. Just think about it you’ll get a chance to talk about new things which will bring you closer together which will help relieve stress and get in you both exercise as well.

When you finish your walk don’t be tempted to dash straight back in to work or the household chores. Give yourself the chance to wind down before you build up again over doing it can have serious consequences and can lead to as many problems as no exercise at all. Just let your heart rate slow back to normal for a few minutes nothing more than that.

If you suffer from insomnia and you mind just refuses to relax try this. Get out of bed and instead of putting on some late night TV sit quietly in your arm chair maybe with some relaxing music and do a few relaxation exercises or a bit of light stretching. The effect will be wonderful and help you sleep much easier.

Don’t neglect your body and it won’t let you down many ilnesses and ailments associated with old age can be reduced or even in some cases prevented altogether. Remember look after your body and it will look after you.
