The Confusion Over Wrinkle Creams

Women worry about aging.  While maturity brings knowledge, experience and hopefully some stability and peace of mind - it also fades the beauty of youth.  Faces that once turned every head in the house become just another older lady who hopes to look good for her age.  But now there are new options.

Beauty is important in our culture.  Models bombard us daily with promises of continued perfection from an astonishing variety of anti aging products.

Perfect skin is a function of youth - expressing health, vitality and that special something that makes heads turn.  Aging is simply the process of deterioration:  of the body and of the skin.  There are many reasons that skin changes as we age.

Do a search for anti aging products online and you will quickly be overwhelmed with choices.  Without even hitting the web, tv and magazines will give you a dizzying array of products promising to reduce wrinkles.

To know what works best, you must first understand what is actually happening with your skin.  What causes these changes?  Elastin and Collagen are proteins that our bodies produce less of as we age.  This reduction is one of the direct causes of wrinkles.

In addition to the loss of these proteins, many environmental factors contribute to the aging process of our skin.  Lifestyle choices including exposure to high stress levels and the ultraviolet rays , UVA and UVB, of the sun will increase the speed of skin deterioration.

It is important to protect your skin as much as possible.  Prevention is always more effective than cure!  The best anti wrinkle cream will be specific to your skin type and lifestyle.  It must work well with your skin’s texture and type (dry, oily, etc).  If your wrinkle cream causes pimples you aren’t really making the progress you want to make.  An effective anti wrinkle cream will tone up your skin and reduce fine wrinkles little by little over time.

Visiting a certified dermatologist could help the consumer better choose a product that is well suited to her needs.  Just a little research can help you choose the product that may work for you.  Another avenue to consider is herbal products.  With the ideas and suggestions mentioned in this article, you may be able to find the best wrinkle cream for you.
