There is nothing worse than being assaulted with someone’s rancid breath.  Not only is it repulsive, it is really rude.  There are way too many breath freshening products and home remedies to treat bad breath available for people to walking around with nasty breath.  If you are one of those people knocking out innocent by-standers with your foul-smelling breath, then you need to find yourself a bad breath solution fast.

Did you know that you can’t actually smell your own breath?  It’s true, only the people around you are able to smell it.  So if someone tells you that your breath stinks, you should listen to them and start looking for a bad breath solution immediately.

Halitosis basically begins in your mouth where different types of bacteria flourish at various intensities everyday due to a number of factors. Have you ever noticed how your breath really stinks in the morning? That’s because bad breath is often a negative side effect of a dry mouth, stress or fasting. Your mouth is inactive while you are asleep, so there is not enough saliva to wash bacteria out. That means bacterial activity goes into overdrive, leaving a nasty odor in your mouth when you wake up.

Chewing a piece of gum is an effective bad breath solution because the chewing action stimulates saliva production and helps to wash away some of the stinky bacteria in your mouth.  There are natural cures for bad breath that do the same thing, like lemon juice.  Just put a couple of drops on your tongue and it will stimulate the saliva in your mouth just like chewing on gum.

And even though your bad breath might go away after you eat something, the foods that you eat can often contribute to your bad breath. Things like cheese, garlic and onions can cause your breath to smell awful. Drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes don’t help either. That is because particles are left behind in hard-to-reach places on your tongue and interact with the bacteria in your mouth, releasing sulfurous gases that smell atrocious.

You should always scrape your tongue off to keep these particles from breeding with the bacteria in your mouth.  That is why a tongue scraper is a good natural cure for bad breath. If you do not have one, you can always use your toothbrush a spoon to remove the particles.

It’s not always what you put in your mouth that causes your breath to smell bad. Sometimes your nose is the culprit.  Nasal drip from colds, allergies and even hormonal changes can settle on the back of your tongue and mix together with bacteria to produce a real stench.

You can find bad breath solutions everywhere you look.  There are plenty of mouthwashes, breath sprays and oral hygiene products in stores for you to choose from.  You can also opt for home remedies to treat bad breath like citrus juice and baking soda.  The juice from a lemon or orange will stimulate the production of saliva and help wash away odor-producing bacteria.  Rinsing your mouth out with baking soda and water will alter the pH balance in your mouth, weakening the bacteria.

No matter what bad breath solution you decide on, make sure to use it on a daily basis.  You don’t want to smell other people’s rancid breath, so don’t make anyone have to smell yours!
