If you have decided that you want to get injected with some of the new plastic surgery injectable substances instead of getting a major plastic surgery procedure, you should make sure that you know just which injections are the right ones for your face and your needs.

There are many different substances that can be injected into your face in order to make you look younger - and only a board certified plastic surgeon can tell you just which ones are the correct substances for you. Be aware that not all of the injectables will work on all of the problem areas.

Unlike traditional plastic surgery, which requires patients to go to a hospital or an outpatient surgery clinic, these procedures usually are done right in the office, without any prior preparation necessary. No anesthesia is needed, and the patient can go right about their normal business within the same day.

The most common of these surgery-free plastic surgery techniques is Botox. This popular injection is made from the botulism toxin, and it is injected into patients who are worried about wrinkles - particularly in the brow line. This injection freezes the nerves in the area.

Another popular cosmetic plastic surgery injectable is Botox. Derived from the botulism toxin, this injectable has the ability to paralyze facial muscles where it is injected. It is most often injected into the brow line, where it serves to smooth out the muscles of the brow.

The purpose of smoothing brow muscles is to release the wrinkles that develop here - often called frown lines. While Botox is excellent at removing these wrinkles, it is not meant for use on wrinkles in other areas of the face, and will not work on these areas lower on the face.

Restylane is another injectable plastic surgery item that can help with wrinkles. It consists of hyaluronic acid - a compound which can help fill in areas of the skin that are wrinkled due to age. This substance is most often used in areas around the mouth and lips, to fill in lines that form here.

Injections with Restylane can get rid of “laugh lines” and lines around the lips that may make you look prematurely older - a great way to make yourself look younger without a long recovery time. A few injections with a needle may negate the need for further plastic surgery.

Plastic surgery is very popular, and before you decide to go under the knife you can take a look at some of the less invasive techniques that are available to make you look younger. They might be just what you need - without having to get that face lift.
