In fact, you would think that the high cost of inkjet cartridges would have driven everyone to switching to inkjet printer refills by now.  But there are a lot of people that continue pay more for the new ones because they have heard that refills are too much of a hassle.

For some reason, refills have really gotten a bad rap.  But refilling your cartridges is not nearly the hassle that some people seem to think it is.  In fact, most of the reasons that people give for avoiding refills are not even true.  Here are a few of them, along with explanations to set the record straight.

1.  You Need To Be A Certified Technician To Refill Cartridges

You do not need to be a certified technician in order to refill your cartridges. Anyone can do it by simply following the instructions that come with each printer refill kit.  Although inkjet printer refills can seem a little difficult at first, the process really is pretty simple. It is just like anything else, it becomes easier the more times you do it.

Printer refill kits are available at most office supply stores.  Bring the make and model number of your printer with you so that you don’t have any trouble finding the right kit.  Refill kits are also available online, at prices that are generally lower than in office supply stores.

2.  I Can’t Get Anyone To Refill The Cartridges For Me

There are many stores that will take care of refilling ink cartridges for you.  All you have to do is locate one, take in your empty cartridges, and have them refilled.

An even easier option is to send them to the manufacturer to have them refilled. Most manufacturers offer this service for free, so all you have to do is pay for the postage.

3.  It Takes Way Too Long To Refill An Inkjet Cartridge

Actually, refilling inkjet cartridges takes very little time at all.  You can easily refill one in no more than fifteen to twenty minutes.  It only takes five minutes if you take it in to a store that does the refills for you.

4.  My Printer’s Warranty Will Be Voided If I Use Inkjet Printer Refills

Using inkjet printer refills is not going to violate your printer’s warranty.  Telling you that you can’t use refills is just another way that some manufacturers try to squeeze more money out of you by making you think you have to keep buying new cartridges from them.  In fact, the majority of the legalese on most warranties completely violates consumer protection laws.  The only way that a using a refill could possibly violate your warranty would be if it was proved to be directly responsible for damaging your printer.
