Not long ago I wanted to download some movies for the summer rerun season. So, I started to look for the best available deal.
By their nature movie rental places stock only the more popular movies. And those movies are not inexpensive. My tastes in entertainment are different from those of most others. The movies I enjoy are normally not stocked by the rental stores.
My ideas about entertaining movies are more along the lines of movies made many years ago - musicals, mysteries, comedies.
It seems strange that years ago comedians were able to be funny without being vulgar and still receive standing ovations. And there was never an inference that someone might be inferior to someone else.
It is certain that those days were not perfect but families could always find very entertaining movies to watch together without risk of being offended or denigrated.
No more! With a lot of luck you may be able to watch 5 or 10 minutes of a movie without a stream of curse words or without seeing someone’s naked butt staring out at you from the screen. I do not understand the need for all this. As someone a bit older than your average movie fan I am quite familiar with all those words. I have used them and know what they mean. So, there is no fascination for me in hearing them from someone else. I have also already seen my own rear often enough in the mirror that I am now able to recognize another one when I see it, so I feel no need to look at someone else’s.
Imagine my surprise and pleasure when I found a site which offers unlimited downloading opportunities for more than 80 million DVD quality movies. Of course the service has a cost - just as with everything in life. But that one time cost was less than $40 for unlimited access and unlimited downloading. How many rentals could you get for that? And, you don’t need to drive to the rental store in a blizzard or a rain storm!
A fine selection of movies is available on this site. It offers both old and newer movies. I found movies which, as a child, I had watched with my parents. Those movies reminded me of some very enjoyable times.
