We all want happiness, don’t we? We enjoy good times with friends and family, close and intimate relationships. But in today’s world it’s all too easy to become dissatisfied with our lot and feel that we are losing control of our destiny. The feeling of overwhelm is all too common.

In the meantime, our relationships with the ones we love may suffer. Oddly enough, the solution to bringing more happiness into our lives may begin with how we deal with our own perception of ourselves.

What you need to learn to do is to develop a positive mental attitude. Your negative self-talk must go. You must understand that your thoughts determine who you will become.

You can start out with the very best of intentions and be determined that you’ve got what it takes to achieve your goals but life has this nasty habit of getting in the way. It’s sadly all too easy to let negative thoughts deflect you from your path paved with good intentions.

Your mind has no doubt been the recipient of much more negative self-talk than positive over the years and this alone is the major reason why presently your much more likely to fail than succeed.

To change your negative, unsuccessful life into a positive, successful one you must start to program your mind at the subconscious level - or more properly, reprogram it to change your negative thought patterns into positive ones.

You have to learn to catch yourself when your thinking veers into negative channels and consciously turn it onto a more positive track.

Here are 5 ways to promote your positive mental attitude:

1. Start to use visualization as part of your daily life. Learn to see in your minds eye positive outcomes of all that you are trying to achieve. If you struggle with this at first, persevere because it really is a powerful technique.

2. Repeat the visualization over and over again - several times a day if possible. This kind of mental reinforcement will convince your subconscious of the reality of what you are trying to achieve.

3. Write down your goals on paper. This way you will not forget them. And by reading your goals back to yourself every night before retiring, your subconscious mind will work overnight to bring about positive change for the next day.

4. You need to remember that your subconscious just blindly accepts everything you give it so it’s just commonsense to give it the positive outcomes you desire.

5. Build your happiness by sharing your successes with others. It is very true that when you give something positive to others that your own positive self esteem grows. By thinking positive and sharing those positive thoughts and feelings your life will grow stronger in that direction.

As you can see, we hold our destiny in our own hands. Our life does not have to be determined by distractions and other negative influences. After all, you now know your potential can be used more effectively when you discard negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones.

The challenge of life is to produce love and happiness in the midst of all the daily pressures we encounter. It is easy to live the way you want to when you start to realize the power you have to change your own thoughts. Let today be the beginning of a happier and more productive life for yourself and your loved ones by developing your positive mental attitude.
