Don't Underestimate A Christian Classical Education

Education is important, since it plays a vital role in how your children see the world and get through life. It also helps shape their character. Something of this importance makes it difficult to decide how and where your children should receive their education.

All schools and educational options have something to offer, whether the schools are public, private, religious, charter, home, or non-sectarian. However, there is also Christian Classical Education, which is different in that it is promoting the most proven form of education.

Many of our greatest thinkers, scientists, and leaders were the result of Christian Classical Education. In fact, some of these very people were also the Founding Fathers of America.

Leaders in every field persist to surface from the shattered heritage of classical education.  Sadly, in its untainted form, classical education included a Christian world-view.

The reason Christian Classical Education is so successful is because of its basis in Trivium. Children go through three learning phases, regardless of how fast they learn.

Grades K-6 focus on memorization, grades 7-8 focus on forming arguments through logic and critical thinking, and grades 9-12 focus on independent thinking and communication.  The Trivium effectively teaches children how to communicate through speech and writing.

Language, literature, history, math, science, and art are just some of the subjects that are usually included in Christian Classical Education. Children also get to read works that cover Western philosophy and literature.

Classical languages, such as Latin and Greek are common elements in a classical curriculum.  Some of the most well-known classical teaching methods include class lectures, debates, and Socratic teaching.

Christian Classical Education is probably more important now than ever before.  As the world quickens its pace on technology, pop culture, and geo-political forces, our daily lives are constantly being restructured.

The skills necessary to get and keep a job are constantly changing. No matter how the world changes, we will always have need for great thinkers and speakers. People who aren’t afraid to learn new skills and master them quickly are desired in every field. Classical Christian Education has produced the very people needed in a changing world.
