If you are one of the millions of people around the world suffering from obesity, then you have probably tried all sorts of different diet plans in an attempt to get the weight off. If any of them had worked, you probably wouldn’t be reading this article.

A calorie shifting diet plan is the solution to your problem. What makes one so different from a traditional diet? To answer that, you have to understand why the diets you tried previously failed - because your own body worked against you.

Most diets have at their core the same basic technique: They deprive the body of calories that provide the energy it needs. In this way, the body is forced to start consuming its stores of fat for energy. Researchers have found a fallacy in this approach, however. It seems the body will consume muscle tissue for energy before it starts consuming fat. And of course, the other problem is that eventually, most people tend to revert back to their old eating patterns.

The problem is that your body is in emergency mode, and all that food you eat gets stored as - you guessed it, fat. So the total effect of these starvation diets is a loss of muscle tissues, more excess fat than before, and a feeling of failure because you couldn’t overcome your basic survival instincts.

A calorie shifting diet plan attempts both to address these problems and create a new method of weight management. These diet plans work by breaking your daily food intake down into 4 or 5 small meals spaced throughout the day. You eat a balanced diet of good foods - no need for the ‘diet’ or ‘lite’ products - and lose weight. The secret is to eat these specially chosen menus of food without sticking to any one type for too long.

Feel free to eat until you’re no longer uncomfortably famished. However, never eat until you’re full. The whole point is to make your body have to continue to adjust to the foods you eat, all the while causing it to tap into your fat reservoirs to replace the energy that you’re stealing from it in the form of calories.

There are two key results of this type of diet. The first is that you will stick with it longer since you’re eating enough to stay comfortable, as well as eating foods you like. The second result is that you will prevent your body from consuming body tissue, since it is instead consuming fat for its energy.

Of course, a diet of any kind is not the only part of losing weight. You will want to couple it with regular exercise. Start small, perhaps just taking a brisk walk each day, adding time and distance each day. Maybe eventually you’re feel comfortable adding in a few calisthenics or even a trip to the gym. A calorie-shifting diet actually works quite well with most exercise programs. Whereas with traditional dieting, there are some risks associated with exercising, calorie shifting already takes that into consideration.

Anyone looking to lose some excess weight would be well advised to look into a calorie shifting diet plan. It is a comfortable, easy, and safe way to lose weight, without the pain and risks of starvation dieting. Throw exercise into the mix, and you have got yourself a winning formula for guaranteed weight loss!
