Using these remedies means you won’t have to go to the trouble of obtaining a prescription, and you won’t have to spend a lot of time trying to choose a product to buy. If you feel you’re about to get a cold sore, you can do something about it fast. That means you can help reduce the time you’ll have to endure the cold sore.

A lot of the better home remedied for cold sores typically include taking vitamins and other supplements, as well as changing your overall diet. You can also use ice packs or try applying different juices or powders directly to the sore.

Some of the most absurd-sounding remedies often work better than the more traditional methods.  There are a few ideas in this article that aren’t that strange, but they definitely are unconventional to products that you would purchase in your local pharmacy or drugstore.

Applying aloe vera, damp tea bags, and lemon balm extract are other common home remedies for cold sores. You can also help reduce cold sore outbreaks by limiting the amount of coffee you drink.

You can also help soote your cold sore symptoms by applying a moistened tea bag to the area in the same way as an ice pack. The tannic acid in the tea helps thanks to its antiviral properties.

Home remedies are great because they are so effective in healing cold sores. They don’t cost much and aren’t hard to find.

Most of these home remedies for cold sores will do a lot to relieve your pain and promote faster healing, especially if you start before the cold sore fully emerges as a blister.
