If you’re new to network marketing you might not be familiar with the concept of Attraction Marketing, but it will become your new best friend. It’s revolutionizing the way marketing is being conducted. In the past, newcomers to network marketing were encouraged to first approach their ‘warm market’, meaning their friends and family.

They were told that ‘Everyone is your prospect’ and given the ‘3-foot’ rule, which says you must talk about your business opportunity to anyone within 3 feet of you. The problem with that is you waste a lot of time presenting your product or business to people who couldn’t care less.

Then they’re told to introduce their business to even more people who aren’t interested in hearing about it; this is known as the cold call. They’re advised to call dozens and dozens of people because “It’s a numbers business” and “Every no brings you closer to a yes”. But who wants to go through so many rejections?

Attraction marketing draws your prospects to you, rather than you chasing after them, by offering prospects valuable information they can use. It operates on the principal that people hate to be sold to, but they love to buy things they want. It allows marketers to ‘serve’ their prospects rather than ‘sell’ them.

By providing potential prospects with information, you begin to build a relationship with them, and rather than feeling like you’re selling to them, you’re perceived more like an authority on your topic. This is easier to do than ever before, primarily because of the Internet.

Become familiar with all the different ways to use marketing tools online in order to promote your business. This can include using blogs and articles to provide information about your business and brand yourself as a leader in network marketing. Using these tools gives your prospects assistance in building a business, regardless of whether they join yours or not.

This has the added benefit of giving you more credibility, since you’re not pushing anything at them. The more information you’re able to give, the greater the chances that people will be attracted, not just to you, but to your business opportunity as well.

Use the convenience of a website to convey information your visitors will find valuable. Then take advantage of advertising, article marketing and traffic exchanges to promote your site. This attracts the people who are already interested in what you have to offer.

Another avenue available to send interested prospects to your site is by visiting forums related to your business and offering worthwhile information to the members. In most forums you’re allowed to include a website in your signature which also helps send interested traffic to your website.

Attraction marketing is changing the way network marketers build and conduct their business. By altering your mindset from ‘How can I sell them’ to ‘How can I help them’, your prospects will learn to trust and appreciate you, making it much easier for them to make the decision to buy from you or sign up for the opportunity you’re offering.
