Eat More (Good Stuff) And Lose Fat Fast

If you are not overeating and you are getting some regular brisk exercise but still not losing fat, this is the reason. Your situation is simple and easy to fix.

By Rosie Peters

Are you frustrated by the fact that you don’t overeat but still can’t lose fat?

Have you kept an accurate measurement of how much you eat and the energy you expend in exercise? Yes, and the figures just don’t add up because according to your numbers, you should be losing fat fast?

If you are not overeating and you are getting some regular brisk exercise, the answer to your lack of ability to lose fat is in not how much you eat, but what you eat.

The wrong type of food does terrible things to your body, both in terms of sugar and fat storage and in slowing down your metabolism so that you don’t burn the fat that you would on a decent diet.

What’s a decent diet? Well a diet of mainly whole, unprocessed foods is the go. You must have plenty of lean protein, complex carbs and some fat (twice as much unsaturated fat as saturated). You do need to eat fat, just not very much of it in relation to the other good food you should be eating.

I’m guessing what you are eating, though in small amounts, is plenty of saturated fat (think deep fry, bacon or butter) and simple carbs with an emphasis on sugar (think cakes, sweet drinks or chocolate, which is both sugary and fatty).

All fats have more than twice the calories of protein and carbs. That means that a small insignificant looking fatty treat swallowed daily is going to do your fat loss efforts considerable damage.

Sugar is a simple carb. It routinely features very quietly in small print in the background of food and drink labels that scream “Low Fat” or “No Fat”. If you take in enough sugar, it actually converts to fat and you are exactly where you don’t want to be.

If you want to burn the fat and boost your metabolism, you have to limit your fat and sugar intake on a daily basis. Otherwise, however few calories you take in, your fat deposits will stick determinedly to you.

There is no way around it. If you are not eating excessive amounts for your height, age, gender and somatotype (body shape), then you have to look to what food you are eating for the solution.

Become as informed as you can. There is no one magic way to lose fat fast. You need to read widely and experiment with your diet and your exercise program till you get the balance that works for you. The only way it is going to happen is for you to seek out the knowledge you need and then to use it to your benefit.
