Sadly, many imitators have tried to sully the great name of Chanel by making cheap knockoffs and selling them to all those who wanted to pretend to be rich and famous. It has been especially prevalent in third world countries, such as Thailand and India, where the police do not care for trademarks as we do in America.

You may well wonder what it is about Chanel perfume that sets it apart from the rest and why women cannot do without it, and the answer is easily available when one considers the vision of its founder Coco Chanel who wished for women to wear perfumes that gave them a sense of freedom and of belonging to an important part of society. To make this enticing fragrance concoction, he stirred in rose, jasmine, and neroli, along with ylang-ylang. While the exact blend is not known by anyone outside the company, everyone of us knows it is definitely a good blend. It was once believed that a bottle of Chanel No. 5 sold every thirty seconds, somewhere throughout the world. Believe it or don’t, but I’ll tell you that Chanel is definitely not hurting financially.

A 1.7 oz bottle of Chanel No. 5 will run you about $80 if you buy from a department store, but search around and you’ll get a 2.5 oz for the same price. Chanel is the way to let the world know you have arrived, so if you want to move up the ranks in to high-society, grab a bottle of Chanel No. 5.
