One of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe is the city of Prague. Known throughout Europe as a city where love blossoms, it rivals Paris for the title “city of love”. Host to some of the most historic buildings in the world with architectural structures dating all the way back to the Roman Empire. Millions of people visit Prague every year to see the detail and sheer beauty of these ancient buildings. The Old Town, Lesser Town, and New Town are the three districts that make up the city of Prague.

One of the structures that continually attracts visitors is the Charles Bridge which crosses the Vltava River, connecting the Old Town with Lesser Town.  During the rule of King Charles IV, construction on the bridge began in 1357 and was eventually completed early on in the 15th century.  The bridge was the only means of crossing the river between the Prague Castle, Old Town and Lesser Town. Construction on Prague castle started around the ninth century and continued through following centuries. It is one of the largest and most elaborate castles in the world.  It has had many uses, from a church, to a convent and then in the middle-ages it became the residency of the ruling monarchy.

The City Hall Tower in the Old Town district of Prague is a clock tower that dates back to the 14th century. Its fascinating to see the attention to detail in its design and construction. On the hour mark, a door opens above the clock and the twelve Apostles appear. On the right side of the dial the skeleton of death rings the bell. The clock tower has seen some major repairs over the centuries and the attention to detail is one thing that has remained constant and is a testament to the presevation efforts of the local people.

The town of Kutna Hora hosts the most fabulous museum that is dedicated entirely to Alchemy and the study of mysteries of mythical creations. Another attraction that Kutna Hora hosts is the Gothic Stone Fountain. This incredible fountain was built in 1496 and is still a functioning fountain today. Many people find certain peacefulness while relaxing at the fountain.
