Split ends are the result of removal of the protective cuticle at the end of the hair. Once removed, it is impossible to replace. The hair split is two to three centimeters in length and can only be removed with trimming of the split ends.
As noted, once you have split ends you have very few options. In the 70’s some ladies even burned off their split ends. A trip to the stylist may have been a much better, even though more expensive, I am sure we can agree.
There are easier ways to get rid of your dead ends before they split further… DIY (do-it-yourself) hair trims. Don’t be afraid, everyone does it!

Those individuals who are happy with their hair and only want a trim are best suited for a do it yourself re-style. A do in yourself haircut. If you are uncomfortable with this, allow the professionals to do the job.
The removal of split ends:
Twist in a gentle downward motion small sections of hair. The split ends will stick out. Take your scissors and snip into the twist. Do not cut completely through; just cut into the thickness to remove the split ends and give a layered effect.
Cut the same amount from each twist. The simple, least expensive ideas are sometime the best ideas. Get to trimming.
