Webkinz are sweeping the country. In 2006, Webkinz were found in a handful of speciality stores.Flower shops even carried them! By Christmas 2006 the Webkinz craze had gone nationwide, and in February 2007 various Webkinz were selling out in stores.
The thought behind the Webkinz craze taking off so fast may have to do with the online part.Children and, quite frankly alot of adults, can use their internet accounts to play in a safe, secure climate. Because there is no chat, the worry about child predators is not a concern.Webkinz owners can have a great time and an educational one as well.
The withdrawing from production of these plush stuffed toys has really added to the craze.Retiring Webkinz means that they will no longer be made available by Ganz.Like Beanie Babies before them, these retired stuffed animals will escalate in value, thanks to collectors and the idea of retiring them.
