You’ll really struggle with this method because you’re not pre-qualifying your prospects. You have no idea what your friends and family members are looking for, maybe they’re entirely disinterested in joining a business opportunity. Your results will be more successful by working with prospects who seek you out and who are looking for a solution that you can provide.
Another problem with the home party strategy is targeting your friends and family. If all of a sudden you find yourself being avoided at the family party, remember this one thing, everyone is NOT a prospect!
Now I know this runs contrary to what you’re hearing from your Melaleuca upline, but it’s true. The only thing you’ll accomplish by prospecting your warm market is ruining a few relationships. Believe me, I’ve been there.
Melaleuca network marketing is also famous for promoting the idea that anyone can become a success in this business. To some degree that is true, but it sets most people up for failure because they underestimate the work it’ll take. Hard work, discipline and skills are needed to become a success and that’s something that a lot of people seriously lack, especially when it comes to a “side business”.
Eventually your names list is going to run out. What happens then? You need to learn proven and sound business and marketing techniques, it’s the key ingredient to success. From my experience there’s not really a short-cut around this. Just because you invite a few of your friends or members of your family to some of your home/hotel meetings won’t automatically make you successful.
I have a question for you. Do you want you and your business to be taken seriously? Do you want to stop busting your rear with little or no results to show for your efforts? Then stop selling your business and products like a door-to-door salesman!
Proper positioning can take place online! What better place? Show them Melaleuca.com to establish credibility with them. Give away free samples of the Melaleuca products, get them to see the benefits of using them. The key is to attract prospects to you, instead of chasing them down.
Feed your prospect’s interest and excitement about the Melaleuca opportunity before they land on your web page. Attraction is the true key to real Melaleuca growth.
