Policemen And Me (Did I Do It)
In the 1960s to 1976 I worked as a window fixer travelling around the country from site to site. One night in 1963 I was working in Liverpool and told by the boss to go to another site nearer London. Which there was a famous bridge there. My friend and I (who is my work mate) set off with our caravan to the new site. It was late at night when we got to the town.
Did You Set Your Goals When You Were Young?
I did. Top of my list was flying an aeroplane. I was 14 years old when I joined the “Air Training Core”. I should have been 16 but I lied about my age. After the first year, we where ask if we could go away for a weeks training on an airfield. We jumped at that! On this trip they showed us an aeroplane, and very old one at that. A two winged one, where you sit in the open, one behind the other.
